Medication & Fasting Guidelines
Fasting: You must fast (no food) for 6 to 8 hours before your appointment.
Water: You may have small sips of water up until 2 hours before the test.
Opioids: Stop taking any opioid medications (e.g., Codeine, Morphine) 7 days before the test.
Stomach Medications: Stop taking nausea or antispasmodic medications (e.g., bacteria or spasm relief) 3 days before the test.
Critical Meds: You should continue to take critical medications (like those for heart or blood pressure) with small sips of water on the morning of the test.
Scheduling & Clothing
Menstrual Cycle: It is recommended to schedule your test outside of your menstrual period to ensure the most accurate results.
Clothing: Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.
Undressing: You will not need to fully undress. Your shirt will simply be lifted to place sensor pads on your abdomen (just above your belly button).
What to Expect During the Appointment
Duration: The entire appointment takes about 45–60 minutes (10–20 minutes for prep and 30 minutes for the test itself).
Water Load: During the test, you will be asked to drink water until you feel full to stimulate your digestive system for the sensors.
Relaxation: You will recline in a chair for 30 minutes while the device records signals; you can bring headphones to listen to music if you wish.
